The origin of 'Vengels' upright Korean fir tree remains unknown, yet its distinctiveness merits a place in any conifer garden. Its seed cones are a fascinating horticultural anomaly, displaying a unique purple-blue hue and bristly texture that persists, often sprouting new shoots from their tops. Whether they produce viable seeds is still uncertain.

After 10 years, a mature specimen typically stands at 4 to 5 ft tall and spans 2 ft  wide.
