'Ariake nomura' stands out from other red upright Japanese maples as it holds its color well in the shade. 'Ariake nomura' is listed in Japan as early as 1968. Fall color is a much brighter red to deep maroon. 'Ariake nomura' may reach 12-14 ft in height in 15 years.
