These are seedlings from the cultivar Hogyoku. Hogyoku is a classic Japanese maple prized for its exceptional fall color. They will show variation but will have many characteristics similar to Hogyoku. Right now all of these seedlings display green leaves with many displaying the curling foliage that makes Hogyoku so attractive. We would assume many of these will make larger trees with a typical growth rate of about a 1 ft per year. Fall color will likely vary from Hogyoku as these are all seedlings and will likely show a level of variation. These are not 'Hogyoku' as seedlings show variation but can make a beautiful and unique tree in the garden.
