'Ruby de Sofia’ is a newer introduction that is extremely unique. ‘Ruby de Sofia’ leafs out in the spring with a light pink to white reticulated variegation. During the summer these leaves turn green. The habit is extremely special with hooking branches and an arching and contorted-like habit. Every time the branch hooks, it creates a Ruby-like knot like appearance on trunk. These round statutes and the ruby red fall color is where ‘Ruby de Sofia’ gets it Ruby name.  This selection was found by our good friend, Angel Mendoza, and named after his daughter, Sofia.
