'Wintergold' is a white fir selection that has a gray-green appearance in the spring and summer, but a bright golden yellow appearance in the winter. 'Wintergold' is a selection that can be staked upward to attain a central leader reaching 8-10 ft in height in 15 years. Without staking, 'Wintergold' typically develops more lateral and horizontal branching reaching 4-5 ft in height by 7-8 ft in width in 15 years. All 'Wintergold' available at MrMaple.com were grafted onto Abies firma, which makes them more durable and hardy.
