'W.B. Hoyt' was found as a dwarf mutation called a witches' broom on a Pacific northwest native vine maple at the Hoyt Arboretum in Oregon. This dwarf Acer circinatum has a dense compact habit reaching 3-4 ft in 10 years. Fall colors can include yellows, oranges, and reds. Our 'W.B. Hoyt' were grafted directly from the original broom.
