'Cinnamon Flake' is a hybrid selection of Acer griseum and nikoense with spectacular cinnamon flaking bark. This trifoliate leafed maple leafs out in the spring with kelly green leaves that contrast well with the cinnamon bark. In the autumn, the fall color turns to bright fire engine red.

Besides the uniquely flaking bark, this hybrid with the paperbark maple is important in the landscape and garden because it has exfoliating bark like Acer griseum, yet the vigor of Acer nikoense. This creates a larger exfoliating barked maple quicker. If you enjoy rare, beautiful trees with winter interest, then this the maple for you.
