'Itaya' leafs out in the spring very rounded large green leaf. This color stays throughout the summer giving a lively appeal. Like many full moon Japanese maples, the autumn color on ‘Itaya’ is quite astonishing. The fall color can range from yellow to orange to red, or all at these colors at the same time. ‘Itaya’ may reach 8-10 ft in 15 years. 

The google translation of ‘Itaya’ offers plate as a possible option. This would make a lot of since as the leaves are large and round like a dinner plate. Not to be confused with ‘Meigetsu Itaya’ or many of the other maples this name has been applied to, this ‘Itaya’  selection offered is the same as ‘Itaya’ described in JD Vetree’s book.
