'Gold Coin' is a golden selection of maple that has large foliage and unreal golden yellow color. 'Gold Coin' may reach 12-14 ft in 10 years. While we do grow 'Gold Coin' in full sun in the mountains of Western North Carolina, I do recommend giving morning sun with afternoon shade in Zone 7b-8. 

In our display garden we have a 'Gold Coin' that displays phenomenal color. It is quite the salesman for us as that tree in our garden sells many trees and will continue to do to so for years to come.

This selection by Esveld Nursery in Holland was originally labeled as Acer longipes, later getting changed to Acer amplum ssp. amplum. Despite which species you agree with, one thing you will agree is that 'Gold Coin' is quite striking and deserves a place in your landscape.
