'Akita yatsubusa’ is slow growing dwarf green Japanese maple with a dense habit and smaller leaves. Fall color is a bright red. In 10 years, ‘Akita yatsubusa’ may reach 3-4 ft in height and width. Because of this small habit, ‘Akita yatsubusa’ is an excellent tree for bonsai culture or container gardening. “Akita” is a prefecture in Japan, while “yatsubusa” means small or dwarf.
