‘Ao kanzashi’ is a medium sized upright tree. This variegated leaf has a bright green inside with a unique violet border in the early spring that fades to a cream by late spring. This cultivar really stands out nicely in any garden. The height is 12-14 ft keeping it in the mid-sized range in 15 years. ’Ao kanzashi’ grows best in filtered afternoon light. The fall color of this amazing cultivar is red inside and the cream border changes to elegant shades of pink and orange.
