'Aratama' is a dwarf Japanese maple that is great for small spaces. Reaching three to five foot in height this round, dense, and shrubby tree has its own special characteristics. Derived as a witches broom 'Ko murasaki', 'Aratama' is desirable because of its dense, short, tight branching. As its name suggests this it is an "uncut gem" amongst the rest. Its dense, wide-spreading canopy is made up of small brick red green leaves that will change to an array of reds and purples in the fall, providing a splash of color to any landscape. 'Aratama' is a perfect balance of beauty, strength, and character.
