Good gifts often come from great people. 'Chika' was given to us by good friends Hisanori Kojima and Chikako Kojima of Japan. We met them years ago when they interned at a friend's nursery just 15 minutes from ours. Later we had the privilege of visiting their home and nursery in Japan. To us, this tree is a symbol of great friendship.

'Chika' is a weeping Japanese maple with small green leaves palmate leaves in the spring that turn to a spectacular yellow to orange in the fall. The bark appears to be lime-green on new growth, which can be quite attractive. According to Hisanori, 'Chika' originated at a temple in Chikako's home town. 'Chika' is extremely vigorous and cascading reaching 5-6 ft in height by 7-8 ft in width in 15 years. Don't miss out on adding this special tree to your garden.
