‘Chisio Improved', sometimes referred to as "Shin chisio", is a brilliant Japanese maple that should be in everyone's garden. The spring color ranges from a bright pink-red to a bright cherry red. The color is so unreal 'Chisio improved' appears like it is blooming.  This color may last for a several weeks. By mid to late spring, the color on 'Chisio Improved' has matured to a pleasant green-red. During the summer, the green foliage may serve as a nice background for the coral red new gowth. Fall color on 'Chisio Improved' ranges from orange to red. 'Chisio Improved' may reach 10-12 ft in 10 years.
