'Cricket' is narrow growing Japanese maple that was found as a mutation off of the cultivar 'Fireglow' by our good friend, Elizabeth Mundy. This narrow growing Japanese maple has the color everyone loves of 'Fireglow'. In the spring, 'Cricket' is a bright red, developing to a maroon with a glowing effect in the sun. Fall color is a fiery red. We expect 'Cricket' to reach 8-10 ft in 10 years by 3-4 ft in width.Ā
