'Midori-no-teiboku' is a laceleaf selection with a unique spreading habit. 'Midori-no-teiboku' can reach 3 ft in height by 7 ft in width in 10 years. The lobes on each leaf of 'Midori-no-teiboku' are thinly serrated and not often heavily divided like many other laceleaf selections. The chartreuse green leaves give this spreading and weeping Japanese maple a distinctive appearance. 'Midori-no-teiboku' was found as a chance seedling from Viridis by Dr. Corbin. The name translates as "green and spreading".
