'El Tigre' is a brand new selection of a dwarf Japanese maple in the "Mikawa Family Collection". In the spring it cups downward as the leaves unfurl. As summer approaches a lime green on dark green variegation becomes ever present. The variegation would be comparable to 'Relish', except the tightly layering habit is shaped more like 'Mayday'. In the fall, 'El Tigre' turns a bright red. We expect 'El Tigre' to reach 3-4 ft in height and width in 10 years. 'El Tigre' was found and introduced by the Mendoza Family, who have introduced many other amazing selections.
