'Englishtown' is a dwarf red Japanese maple with smaller foliage than a typical red Japanese maple. The spring foliage is a bright red in the spring, turning to a maroon red, before turning to green red. Red new growth during the summer definitely adds nice summer interest. Fall color is a bright scarlet red. 'Englishtown' was found by Stephen Kristoff in Englishtown, NJ, as chance dwarf mutation called a witches broom.
