'Enkan', sometimes called "Aekan les", is a red linearilobum strap leaf selection that isn't often commonly found in the nursery trade. 'Enkan' has long thin leaves similar to that of 'Koto no ito', but with a good dark red color that holds fairly well. Fall color on 'Enkan' is a bright scarlet red. 'Enkan' may reach 12-14 ft in height by 7-8 ft in width in 10 years. 'Enkan' was brought back to Europe and introduced by Esveld Nursery in 1991.
