'In the Pink', also known as 'Ruslyn-in-the-Pink', is an upright dwarf Japanese maple introduction by Ruslyn Nursery in New York. This Japanese maple leafs out in the early spring as a pink-red with mature leaves that are extremely round. Protection from the hot afternoon sun is suggested for best coloration and growth. This rounded pink-red amoenum leaf is very fitting on this dense dwarf that only reaches 6 ft in 15 years. As the summer approaches this selection fades to a deep maroon with shades of deep green. Fall colors on this In the Pink Japanese maple are bright oranges to pink-red. 'In the Pink' is ideal for containers, conifer beds, and fairy gardens.
