This selection leafs out as a bright pink-red fading to a light green by mid-summer. The secondary flush of growth returns to a bright pink-red creating a dynamic contrast over the light green leaves. Fall colors are a bright oranges to fiery reds. Because of its witches' broom nature, it is extremely dense in habit. 'Jerre Schwartz' reaches 6 ft in height by 4 ft in width in 15 years making it a great Japanese maple for small spaces. It is ideal for conifer beds, rock gardens, miniature rail-road gardens, fairy gardens, and container growing.
