Exceptional Fall Color - Variegated Osakazuki Japanese Maple

'Kin pai' is a newer selection from Yutaka Tanaka at Tsukasa Maple in Japan. 'Kin pai' was found as a variegated sport on the ever popular 'Osakazuki' on the grounds of Tsukasa Maple. We saw this unique original sport  on Osakazuki in person at Tsuksasa Maple and it was quite eye-opening. 'Kin pai' has all the fantasitc traits of 'Osakazuki', being a good grower and having an excpetional bright red fall color. The difference is having a slightly more divided leaf with showy red variegation. According to Yutaka Tanaka, 'Kin pai' when written in one of the Japanese characters, literally means "variegated from Osakazuki". 'Kin pai' may reach 6-8 ft in 15 years.
