Rare Variegated Komon nishiki Japanese Maple

Not commonly found in the nursery trade, this selection was first mentioned in the 1882 Sekihin Binran list in Japan. In the spring, 'Komon nishiki' leafs out with pink and white sand dusting variegation across the chartreuse green leaves. By late spring the variegation is a creamy white on the darker green leafs. According to Yano's Book for Maples, fall color ranges from orange to red. 'Komon nishiki' may reach 8-10 ft in 15 years. Give morning sun with protection from the hot afternoon sun for best variegation.
