Acer palmatum ‘Little Alex’ bursts with cherry-red foliage in spring, deepens to rich maroon in summer, and finishes the season with bright red fall color. This compact selection grows to about 4ft by 4ft in 10 years and originated as a witches’-broom discovered by Bob McCaffrey, who affectionately refers to all dwarf mutations as “blessings.” ‘Little Alex’ is being offered on MrMaple for the very first time.
