Acer palmatum 'Manyo no sato' Japanese Maple

Acer palmatum 'Manyo no sato'
Chartreuse VariegatedĀ
Japanese Maple

Zones 5-9

'Manyo no sato' is an introduction of Japanese maple that was introduced in Japan in 1993 and made popular by Yutaka Tunaka at Tsukasa Maple in Tokyo-to. It is a photographer's delight to photograph this beauty and I'm sure it will be your most popular photos on Instagram. 'Manyo no sato' leafs out in the early spring as a darker purple red with chartreuse variegation. The purple red color fades to a mauve red, then to a green in full sun during the summer in the south. 'Manyo no sato' turns to bright orange to red in the autumn. 'Manyo no sato' means "The Village of a 1,000 Leafs". 'Manyo no sato' may reach 8 ft tall by 6 ft wide in 10 years. Better act fast before they are gone! Ā Ā
