'Masu murasaki' leafs out as a bright red Japanese maple from years of old. 'Masu murasaki' is an old Japanese literature dating back to 1704. During the summer 'Masu murasaki' matures to almost black- purple red. 'Masu murasaki'  shows best color in full sun. 'Masu murasaki' turns to a bright fiery red in the fall. 'Masu murasaki' may reach about 20 ft in height in 15 years.
