Acer palmatum 'Miwa' is selection of reticulated Japanese maple that leafs out in the early spring with green leaves with creamy like variegation, which provides a striking contrast with the dark green veins of the leaf. Spring color may have a yellow to pink blush. Fall color on 'Miwa' typically starts out as a yellow, maturing to oranges, reds, and purples. 'Miwa' may reach 8-10 ft in 15 years. "Mi" means beauty, while "wa" means peaceful. Talon Buchholz, who introduced this cultivar describes this as meaning "graceful beauty".
