Acer palmatum 'Miyama nishiki' is an extremely rare red linearilobum or strapleaf type. While I have not yet noticed this, it is noted for having both linearilobum leaves and the leaves of a laceleaf on the same tree as this cultivar ages and matures. I have noticed that 'Miyama nishiki' has a more rounded back than most linearilobum types which stands out. It reaches 10-12 feet in height and turns to bright oranges Ā and reds in the fall.Ā
