Acer palmatum 'Nishiki yamato'

Nishiki yamato Pinebark Japanese Maple

Zones 5-9

'Nishiki yamato' is seedling selection from 'Arakawa' that has bronze foliage when it first leaves out, turning to purple border, then maturing to a solid green leaf. This selection by Masayoshi Yano is exceptional and vigorous grower. It may reach 8ft in height in 10 years. According to Yano's Book for Maples, this pinebark selection may take 5 years to start barking. This pinebark characteristic makes this tree appear much older, making it have exceptional winter interest and excellent choice to work with as a bonsai. Many of our 3 gallons are just now starting to show the bark formation.  Fall color is bright fiery red.

Limited Quantities Available !! As we have over a thousand cultivars of Japanese maples, we often do not have many of each cultivar. We recommend that you buy Japanese maples you want immediately as we often sell out of certain selections.
