Introduced by Seismeyer in 1888, this beautiful laceleaf Japanese maple is rare in the nursery trade and should be used much more frequently in the landscape. This Japanese maple leafs out with brick red laceleafs over top bright green stemming and branching. Midsummer colors are bronze overtones over green.

'Ornatum' reaches 5 ft in height by 6 ft in width in 10 years with a cascading umbrella habit. Fall colors are bright oranges to crimsons. Plant this 'Ornatum' Japanese maple as a focal point, as an accent planting, or even as container plant expanding your garden to new areas such as a deck, driveway, pool, or patio.
