Acer palmatum 'Satsuki beni' Japanese Maple

Acer palmatum 'Satsuki beni'
Red Azalea Japanese Maple Tree

Zones 5-9

'Satsuki beni' is a gorgeous green Japanese maple. Yano states that this is a great form of Acer amoenum f. latilobatum that was introduced in 1975. These characteristics are the rounded green leaves the older growth. The new growth in spring and summer is a bright chartreuse to yellow-green with a nice purple-red to bright red border to the leaf. This is showy and will grab your attention. The name "Satsuki beni" means "red azalea" due to the bright show that the red border puts on in the spring. In the fall, 'Satsuki beni' typically turns to a bright red. 'Satsuki beni' may reach 12-15 ft in height in 10 years.

Limited Quantities Available !!Ā As we have over a thousand cultivars of Japanese maples, we often do not have many of each cultivar. We recommend that you buy the Japanese maples you want immediately as we often sell out of certain selections.
