'Shigi no hoshi' leafs out in the spring with white reticulated variegation and dark green veins. The leaves are 'Shigi no hoshi' are fairly serrated on the edges, especially on mature growth. In autumn, 'Shigi no hoshi' turns to a bright yellow. This gives 'Shigi no hoshi' quite a different look than other reticulated types. 'Shigi no hoshi' is perhaps one of the smallest selections of reticulated variegated uprights. After 10 years, 'Shigi no hoshi' may reach 4-5 ft in height and width. It was found and introduced by Yutaka Tanaka at Tsukasa Maple in Japan.Ā
