Acer palmatum 'Shigure bato' Japanese Maple

Acer palmatum 'Shigure bato'

Shigure bato Japanese Maple Tree

Zones 5-9

‘Shigure bato’ quickly becomes a favorite in the garden for anyone who grows it. When given sunlight ‘Shigure bato’ emerges in the spring with  bronze tips on a light green leaf. The light green takes full display for most of the spring and summer. In the fall ‘Shigure bato’ turns to yellows and oranges.

While the leaf is similar to a laceleaf, ‘Shigure bato’ is actually a lower growing matsumurae that may grow equally as wide or wider than it grows tall. There is really nothing else quite like it. A 10 year old ‘Shigure bato’ may measure 6 ft in height by 6-8 ft in width. According to Vertrees, ‘Shigure bato’ translates as “rain of the late fall”.

Limited Quantities Available !! As we have over a thousand cultivars of Japanese maples, we often do not have many of each cultivar. We recommend that you buy Japanese maples you want immediately as we often sell out of certain selections.
