Acer palmatum 'Sweet Lucile’ Skeleton Reach Japanese Maple

Acer palmatum

'Sweet Lucile'
Rare “Skeleton Reach” Variegated

Japanese Maple

Zones 5-9

'Sweet Lucile’ is a special new selection that was found and introduced by Crispin Silva and named after Lucile Whitman. Lucile, being humble thought it should renamed. Dan Heims came up with the name ‘Skeleton Reach’, which it is also marketed under. I like the name ‘Sweet Lucile’ as it was named after a friend and also the name of the guitar for Blues legend, B.B. King.

‘Sweet Lucile’ has some bombshell colors of white reticulated variegation with a pink blush. The leaves are less rounded like ‘Shigitatsu sawa’, but more pointed like ‘Mikazuki’. The fall color on ‘Sweet Lucile’ typically starts out yellow to orange, later turning to red. We expect ‘Sweet Lucile’ to get 6-8 ft in height in 10 years. Give ‘Sweet Lucile’ morning sun with protection from the hot afternoon sun for the best color.

Limited Quantities Available !! As we have over a thousand cultivars of Japanese maples, we often do not have many of each cultivar. We recommend that you buy the Japanese maples you want immediately as we often sell out of certain selections.
