'Tana’ is quite a unique Japanese maple. ‘Tana’ leafs out until the spring with a Purple-red tipping to the dark green leaves. The way the leaf displays itself is quite different from nearly any other maple. The leaf cups upward from the center of the leaf to varying degrees each year. Some years may be give more of a display than others. Fall color on ‘Tana’ is bright golden oranges to red. ‘Tana’ makes a nice upright tree reaching 10 ft in height by 6 ft in width in 10 years.
**'Tana' has also been known as 'Tanabata'.
