'Utsu semi' leafs out in the early spring as a bright yellow-green large leaf Acer amoenum with purple red tips. The leaf on 'Utsu semi matures to a dark rich green before turning to yellow and orange in the fall. 'Utsu semi' may reach 10-12 ft in height and width in 20 years. The name 'Utsu semi' means "grasshopper skin".
