'Esk Sunset' has large leaves that are splashed with green and pink in the early spring. By midsummer the pink splash turns to a bright cream. The backsides of the leaf on this Esk Sunset maple are a bright purple-red which make for a great display. As this maple gets larger garden goers will look up into the tree seeing this amazing purple-red color. 

While the common name for this variegated sycamore maple is "Eskimo Sunset", this maple actually gets its name from the Esk Valley in New Zealand and should be called ‘Esk Sunset’. Fall colors are bright golden yellows to oranges. 'Esk Sunset' will reach 12-15 ft in height in 20 years. Protection from the hot afternoon sun is recommended in the south however, this maple can do well in full sun in milder climates.'Esk Sunset’ is the maple that will add that needed flare in your garden and landscape.
