This slow-growing tree features a bushy canopy, with roundish purple-red leaves that turn bright yellow in autumn. It thrives in well-drained soil with morning sun and afternoon shade. In 10 years, it reaches a height of 6 ft and a width of 5 ft. 'Purple Velvet' was discovered and introduced by the Flora Wonder Collection of Buchholz Nursery.
