This unique variety of Acer shirasawanum was introduced as a chance seedling by the same nurseryman who found and introduced ‘Mystic Mikawa’, ‘Fragrant Fountain’ and ‘Sir Damon’. ‘Sunny’ will reach 6-8 ft in 10 years if provided with adequate protection from the hot afternoon sun.
