The blooms on ‘Amelia Rose’ are quite large, double, and aptly named. The 3-4 inch hose in hose pink-lavender blooms look just like a rose as they are beginning to open. This mid-to-late bloomer is quite the showstopper in the garden. ‘Amelia Rose’ may reach 6 ft in height by 6 ft in width in 10 years. Hybridized by Dr. Aromi of Mobile Alabama, ‘Amelia Rose’ is a cross between ‘Pride of Prichard’ double indica azalea and a ‘Elsie Lee’ large double blooming cold tolerant azalea hybrid. The result is a beautiful, taller, more sun tolerant double azalea that is slightly more cold tolerant than the typical indica azalea. ‘Amelia Rose’ is an azalea you are sure to love in your garden.
