'Canary Isles' is a hybrid by Dr. Eugene Aromi from Alabama. He hybridized a light colored Rhododendron austrinum with the Knap Hill Hybrid 'Golden Sunset'. The result is a vigorous easier to grow yellow deciduous azalea that flushes orange. 'Canary Isles' may reach 6 ft in height by 4 ft in width in 10 years. Make sure to give 'Canary Isles' plenty of organic matter and good drainage when planting.
