Azalea ‘Drew Brodie’ is a showstopper in the landscape and garden. Is this native azalea a pink or Yellow blooming selection? It is both! Plus it’s a double! ‘Drew Brodie’ is a Rhododendron flammeum that displays rose pink flower buds that unfurl to reveal interior golden yellow blossoms. The exterior throats of these blooms are still a rose pink. This effect gives ‘Drew Brodie’ a unique pink-orange look. The blossoms themselves are double hose-in hose, another unique feature for deciduous azaleas. ‘Drew Brodie’ may reach 5-6 ft in height by 4 ft in width in 10 years. ‘Drew Brodie’ is a Kelly Strickland selection, originally given the code name “STR-54SW”.
