Azalea 'Wakaebisu’ Coral Pink Flowering Satsuki Azalea
Azalea 'Wakaebisu’
Satsuki Azalea With Coral Pink Blooms
Zones 7-9
‘Wakaebisu’ is a coral pink with a deep pink blotch and a green eye. The hose-in-hose 2 inch blossoms have rounded lobes and are quite a sight to see as they stand out from nearly anything else in the garden. 'Wakaebisu’ is a Satsuki azalea. “Satsuki” translates as “Fifth Month”. This is because most Satsuki azaleas, like ‘Wakaebisu’ bloom about 30 days after the first day of spring, which is fairly close to May, the fifth month. Satsuki azaleas are prized in Japan for their use in bonsai culture, which is quickly becoming popular in the United States as well. ‘Wakaebisu’ is especially popular due to its bloom color. In the landscape ‘Wakaebisu’ may reach 2-3 ft in height by 3-4 ft in width in 10 years. According to Galle, ‘Wakaebisu’ translates as “Young Goddess”.
All azaleas are 1 gallon containers and are not currently bonsai.
Limited Quantities Available !! As we have hundreds of azalea cultivars, we often do not have many of each cultivar. We recommend that you buy the azaleas you want immediately as we often sell out of certain selections.
