Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Fernspray Gold' is an hinoki cypress selection that has long fern-like golden sprays that are twisted and especially showy. The overall shape of ‘Fernspray Gold’ is pyramidal, making a nice mid-sized tree. We expect ‘Fernspray Gold’ to reach 6 -7 ft in height by 4 ft in width in 10 years.  Make sure to give ‘Fernspray Gold’ partial shade to protection from the hot afternoon sun. 'Fernspray Gold’ was introduced by Duncan and Davies Nursery of New Zeland. ‘Fernspray Gold’ is a winner of the prestigious Award of Garden Merit of the Royal Horticultural Society.
