Cornus controversa 'Variegata' Rare Variegated Giant Dogwood

Cornus controversa 'Variegata'

Rare Variegated Wedding Cake TreeĀ  Giant Dogwood

Zones 5-8

Light ShadeĀ to Partial Sun

Ā

'Variegata', often known as the "Wedding Cake Tree", is one of the most desired variegated plants. The thick creamy white variegated margins can be seen from a distance, often giving a totally white appearance when looking at it from the distance. In the spring, large clusters ofĀ  of white blossoms cover 'Variegata' adding even more to the ornamental appeal of this tree. After the white blooms, deep dark black berries contrast nicely against the variegated foilage. In the fall, the white variegation gets a "little strawberry icing" as John Beirne describes it. The slight pink variegation is quite attractive. 'Variegata' is a Cornus controversa, or giant dogwood tree. 'Variegata' may reach 15 ft in height in 10 years.

Ā Limited Quantities Available !!Ā As we have over a thousand cultivars of woody ornamentals, we often do not have many of each cultivar. We recommend that you buy the woody ornamentals you want immediately as we often sell out of certain selections.
