Cornus mas 'Helen' is a newer Cornelian cherry dogwood selection from the Ukraine. 'Helen' was the breeding work of Svetlana Klimenko, with 1 inch super sweet tasting fruit. 'Helen' has exceptional bark interest, great red fall color, and good late winter blooming. 'Helen' may reach 12 ft in height in 10 years. 'Helen' is an excellent ornamental for the landscape with that edible flare. Who doesn't love eating from their own garden? The fruit of 'Helen' are tasty right from the tree and are often made into jams.
