This contorted filbert is quite attractive, very desirable, and can be difficult to find at times. The branching twist and curve, creating year round interest that will give something unique in the garden. The leaves are green and rounded. Corylus 'Contorta' may reach 8-10 ft in 15 years.

The  Harry Lauder was a famous entertainer that used a branch of Corylus avellana 'Contorta' as his walking stick, which made this tree quite famous, and also gave this tree its common name.
