Cryptomeria japonica 'Koshyi' is one of the slower growing forms of Japanese cryptomeria. This true dwarf may reach 2 ft in height by 3 ft in width in 10 years. Yes, it often grows wider than tall creating a flat to rounded top. The light green foliage of ‘Koshyi’ is quite attractive.  ‘Koshyi’, also known as ‘Koshiji’, is excellent for fairy gardens, rock gardens, miniature railroad gardens, containers, and other small spaces.'Koshyi’ was found and introduced by Nakamura Nursery in Yokohama, Japan.
