'Zuiko nishiki' is a winter Daphne with glossy green leaves and an especially showy bloom. Dark pink flower buds create interest in the late winter, even before the blooms open up. White blooms surprise you when ‘Zuiko nishiki’ does bloom with pink blushing around the edges of each flower. The flower is intensely fragrant with a sweet citrus-like smell. ‘Zuiko nishiki’ makes a nice rounded habit reaching 4-5 ft in height and width in 10 years.

Like other winter daphne, 'Zuiko nishiki' can be temperamental and difficult to grow. Daphne odora do not like to stay wet, so make sure you give it space where the roots can dry out. Over watering is a common issue that can kill winter daphne. If you grow other types of winter daphne, then 'Zuiko nishiki' can grow in similar conditions.

'Zuiko nishiki' is not common in cultivation.
