'Luteovariegata’ is a European selection of beech that has bright golden yellow variegated margins on a darker green leaf. During the summer, the variegation fades to a light green on the dark green leaf. Our friend, Robert Fincham, recommends to plant this where the morning or afternoon sun comes through leaf. When you do this you can see the variegation from under the tree. ‘Luteovariegata’ may reach 20 ft in height by 12 ft in width in 10 years.
